EDLAB LTD. SERVICES
Our comprehensive product development process has evolved and been refined over the years. It is based on a team design demonstrated by a collaborative working relationship with the client, user groups, industrial/mechanical design teams, testing/integration teams, and manufacturing. Our project control procedures ensure that your goals are met and often exceeded all the way from concept through production. Each phase entails thoughtful planning and analysis, complete and thorough documentation, weekly reporting, and thorough quality reviews, while adhering to industry standards and client defined validation and controls.
Before we begin any project we seek a mutual non-disclosure agreement to be signed. With highest respect for your intellectual property, we begin the process of identifying your business and technical goals and requirements for the project. With details in hand, we assign a project leader, estimate the project effort, identify an expected start date and issue a formal proposal.
Phase 1: Specification & Architecture
At the outset of your project, we will work with your marketing and technical staff to clarify end-user needs and time-to-market requirements. Together, if a functional specification is not available or complete, we will identify the desired product capabilities, performance requirements, features & functions, and look & feel. Next, we will evaluate technical tradeoffs, determine the scope of the project, develop a specification, and define the product architecture and key algorithms. Our team will identify optimal solutions to problems and alternatives for implementation - while considering appropriate tools and technologies. The result is a clear, conceptual product design, with well-defined architectural and technical approaches for implementation supported by a detailed project plan for project completion.
Phase 2: Product Design & Implementation
With specification in hand, we design your product. This involves the creation of all design documents, test and integration plans, the development of all electronics and software, and integration with mechanical design. In collaboration with your manufacturing team, prototypes are built and the product is debugged and made fully operational. This process verifies your product meets technical plan specifications.
Phase 3: Transition to Production
Our job wouldn't be complete without a smooth transition to production. As part of our process, we will leverage your guidelines and templates, if available, to deliver full manufacturing documentation, and a fully installable release of the software. In addition, we will work with your company to pilot the production and provide assistance with regulatory validation, manufacturing transition, systems integration, and software upgrades. After appropriate testing, this phase verifies that the product's functional requirements have been met and that the product performs as expected.
Phase 4: Ongoing Support
Now that the product is complete and being successfully marketed by your company, we want you to feel secure in knowing that we are still here to provide various levels of support. Whether you need primary or secondary support or product enhancements, we are ready to address your needs. We will establish a database for version control, enhancements, and fixes, and provide access to documentation and source file. Finally, a support person responsible for your project will be assigned to ensure you get the attention you need.
